  • In-Car Movement Monitoring: Just like ride-hailing services, we monitor the real-time movement of the vehicle during an active trip to ensure the ride stays on track, calculate distances for cost-sharing, and provide estimated times of arrival - ETA.
  • Safety & Security: Location data allows us to provide "Share My Trip" features and enables our support team to assist in the event of an emergency or dispute.

Background Location Access:

Important: Our app collects location data to enable real-time trip monitoring and safety tracking even when the app is closed or not in use in the background, provided a trip is currently active. This ensures that the ride is tracked accurately from start to finish for both billing and security purposes.

How We Use Your Information

In addition to location-based services, we use your data to:

  • Facilitate the carpooling match between drivers and passengers.
  • Send administrative notices, such as ride confirmations or security alerts.

We share your location and profile name with the other party - driver or passenger - only during an active ride request or trip to facilitate the meeting. We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We use industry-standard encryption to protect all sensitive information.

You may opt-out of location tracking via your device settings; however, doing so will prevent the app from matching you with rides or monitoring active trips. You may request the deletion of your account and data at any time by contacting support@rideshareng.com.
